More negative, there are the lucky few, perhaps we can call them the Group A, then there are the few who convince themselves that all is well, even though it isn't exactly, let's call them the Group B, then there are the few who keep telling themselves it is all good, but sooner or later they can't deny how horrible it is, if they can deny it in public, partly to save face, they can't deny it to themselves, let's call these Group C. As for the rest. it's a very cold sad world, and they can't deny it, group D.
Group A, B, and C often look down, sometimes even laugh at group D. They can say things like, "It's what you make of it", "give it your own meaning", "trust in God", "it's because you don't pray to God", "just work hard and you will be okay," But Group C might find themselves in a very similar situation as Group D someday. The rest of the 2 groups, A and B can afford to keep being a-holes to the other groups. Not saying that all of them are like that, but many of them can afford to be like that.
