How do you deal with a friend losing her moral compass?

A good friend of 5 years, who I met on EP used to be a thoughtful compassionate Conservative.

I liked her tons then and she made me more critical and rigorous about my own ideas.

Now she blames the sheep who stormed the capitol for 1/6, not Trump and the other shepherds who led them there.

Worse she has lost all interest in facts or fairness and relies on "common sense" or asserting without evidence.

I am not sure if she's lost her mind or lost her soul.

Either way It's just sad

That’s a tough one. I don’t have any friends who are Trump supporters, thankfully, but I do have a couple of Republican friends who are a bit more centrist and voted for Biden this time around.
She at least sees the Capitol rioters as wrong ? That’s something. Some posters here saw them as “patriots”, many who criticized the riots during civil rights protests last year, which was a tad hypocritical.

@bijouxbroussard it's actually funny but I feel for the people who storm the capital. They are misguided in many cases not very informed but if I believe that the democracy was being stolen I would like to think I would storm the capital too.

Many of them are in a twisted sends Patriots misguided self-important Patriots perhaps but not the evil beings that the cynical liars are,
