@LilithoftheTrees i dunno. It’s not an instinct shared by all members of the species. in fact it’s quite common for people to dislike kids/babies.

@DoubleRings I’m not sure I agree. Hence the human race growing and thriving the way it does. Even if people dislike babies, there are few who wouldn’t pick up an abandoned baby. And they need coddling. And a baby rat is not cuter than a human. For example.
