How long do you wait on a scheduled appointment at your house before you call the guy a no show?

It depends. If it’s an excellent provider who is lacking in customer service ability, I will work wait. If it’s someone who just didn’t bother to call or reschedule, I give them one follow up call from me when they’re fifteen minutes late and/or up to an hour if we have a set time and I don’t have to leave the property. After that, I call or text and tell the provider that their no show was a de facto cancellation and not to bother with the service call.

And if it’s the only appliance guy who services Miele, I’ll wait. Luckily, there are two competitors who service Sub Zero/Wolf so they tend not to keep customers waiting.

@Stereoguy Now that’s aggravating. And the factory service won’t get involved when there’s a franchisee with the contract.

@Stereoguy That is so maddening. They just can’t be bothered to make their customer while.

@Stereoguy Yes, that’s terrible. And you’re stuck with either replacing the furniture or waiting. But they don’t think that the next piece will be from a competitor because you remember the post sales lack of service. And, LaZBoy isn’t exactly the discount furniture depot.

@Stereoguy. That’s just an awful customer service experience. You can’t be the only person to have that problem either, so they should be prepared for that contingency.

@Stereoguy Probably. They may be used to dealing with snowbirds where they are back at the homestead once April looms and only go to the second home sporadically in the off season.

@Stereoguy It doesn't excuse the behavior, for certain, but may account for why they thought it was business as usual. I'd still be aggravated, since you can't use your furniture properly until it's fixed.
