We all came from some where, except for the indigies,so ask them how they feel about it.
Loretta78 · 46-50, F
@srxwat4 I couldn´t agree more! 👍
BC for that!! 🏆👍

monte3 · 70-79, M
Given that I and 99.992% of the country descended from immigrants, it is hard to be opposed. There can be rules and order etc, but hey we need them.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@monte3 But not Elizabeth Warren? 😇
It isn't immigrants I have a problem with. It's the issue of resources that taxpaying citizens provide being utilized often to an exacerbated extent which results in problems like the overcrowding of local school districts by the children of people who are legally exempt for half a decade and/or those illegally indefinitely forfeiting contribution altogether.
hlpflwthat · M
@AnonymouslyYours 'Legally exempt' from what exactly?

Diversity is strength. Multiculturalism will destroy a nation. I believe in legal immigration and assimilation. Biden incorporated has created an accelerating disaster, and there is absolutely nothing good about it whatsoever. Biden Incorporated's border situation is a crime against humanity.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@Oberon1
Multiculturalism will destroy a nation.

Ridiculous.
Oberon1 · 61-69, M
@Burnley123 I love how you leftists are up to your noses in feces and continue relentlessly to ask, " who farted?" Carry on my wayward son! The denial of the Bolsheviks is beyond surreal.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@Oberon1
An argument keeps being made that multiculturalism is bad and that it damages the cohesion of society. It doesn't really stand up to the evidence.

In London, a huge proportion of the 8 million population is born overseas or second generation. It also has the most pro-immigration attitudes of any part of the UK amongst its 'indigenous' people.

It heavily voted against Brexit and is completely happy with multiculturalism. Far from seeing it as a threat, that kind of thing is actively liked. When the person from another country is your neighbor, your doctor, your local shopkeeper or your friend then you are going to see them as a person. Someone with hopes, fears and desires like YOU, rather than a racialised other.

When your experience of immigrants is reading scare stories and conspiracies from right-wing media sources, then you are likely to see them as a threat. Ironically, the places which have the most hostile attitudes to immigrants are the places with the fewest immigrants.

Loretta78 · 46-50, F
@Burnley123 💯 % agree!
Loretta78 · 46-50, F
I appreciate it when we have touches with people from different cultures who bring new things to us: Different views, technologies, food. 👍
Loretta78 · 46-50, F
@Burnley123 In my country it´s not that strange, but very similar.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@Loretta78 It's bad that the AFD has emerged as a force.
Loretta78 · 46-50, F
@Burnley123 The AFD is indeed a very f...ing party. 😒
iamelijah · 26-30, M
I am welcoming anyone to my country LEGALLY. Most of them are willing to learn my language except some because English is also formal language. Soo... 🤷🏻‍♀️
iamelijah · 26-30, M
@Burnley123 Who are you? Brits? (I am not sure that joke.) 😅
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@iamelijah Yeah I'm British and I am joking.
iamelijah · 26-30, M
@Burnley123 You people colonizing my country.😅😡😡

Don't take it seriously. 😆
It is the USA ... immigrants all ... immigrants welcome, when legal

It is their issue if they lied about assimilating during immigration
Unlearn · 41-45, M
@questionWeaver is it only their issue if they don't assimilate?
@Unlearn Will presume they are not military nor part of organized rebellion

Thus, if they are compelled to lie during immigration and citizenship ... they won't be the first ... but they will have to deal with their own deceit
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
All these Americans are angry about immigrants not learning THEIR language.

As a Brit, I find that irony hilarious.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
No problem.

I hate the way that they are used as a scapegoat for political and economic problems.
Loretta78 · 46-50, F
@Burnley123 I couldn´t agree more!
BlueRain · F
So long as they are legal and learn the language of my country it’s ok.
Unlearn · 41-45, M
@BlueRain what if they're legal but refuse to learn the local culture...
BlueRain · F
@Unlearn then they should leave my country
SW-User
I say why not ... unless your Native American someone brought our great grandparents over to this great country
BlueVeins · 22-25
It's great when they do it legally; if not for immigration, we'd have a declining population and that would suck ass.
Ingwe · F
I feel okay about it
Wol62 · 51-55, M
Feel good about it.
Sharon1 · 31-35, F
Legal or illegal?
Sharon1 · 31-35, F
@Unlearn they should have to assimilate
ozgirl512 · 26-30, F
@Unlearn it's a fine line... They add diversity and colour to our lives, but since assimilation is required of shared values
Wol62 · 51-55, M
@Unlearn I'm not an immigrant and I hate my local culture.
hlpflwthat · M
We'll soon be in trouble without them.
meggie · F
@hlpflwthat already are in the UK as there is a serious shortage of fruit pickers and hospitality workers
hlpflwthat · M
@meggie Many of the faster growing cities here are in the same predicament. And I think you could add 'working trades' to the list here.
SW-User
Law abiding illegals/legals don't bother me one bit.
Dolimyte · 41-45, M
We need it to compensate for a lower birth rate here.
Only if they enter into the US legally.
Teslin · M
Legally, I am all for it.
Sheer · F
It's too many, and Denmark does a poor job at actually intergrating them into society.
@Sheer What about Danes going to other countries to live?
Sheer · F
@Unlearn Why would it make me feel anything? It isn't related to me, personally. I just think it's a bad idea — I think they should take in less immigrants, and spend more money on actually helping them to make a good life for themselves here, in return.
Sheer · F
@quitwhendone What about that? I mean, Denmark is one of the richest and best countries to live in, in terms of social welfare, wages, free-time, free education for life, free healthcare, etc. Danes don't need (or want) to immigrate, but like all people, some like to travel. =)
bugeye · 26-30, F
doesn't effect me much personally but i will say i prefer foreign people with me in the workplace. ever worked alongside Scottish people? Fecking nightmare.
LookingForTheSummer · 31-35, M
@bugeye what's wrong with them? Lol
bugeye · 26-30, F
@LookingForTheSummer not to generalise but most Scottish i worked with were loud, constantly trying to banter, chat me up. a few would be upset if a foreign person got promoted or a raise before they did.

i like working with Polish groups most. there's awkward moments due to a language barrier but they get shiz done.
DragonFruit · 61-69, M
My grandparents were immigrants, and so was a former girlfriend of mine.
This is a country comprised predominantly of the families of immigrants.
AnthroKenji · 36-40, M
People have been moving into all countries in and out for 1000's of years. Doesn't bother me, do what you gotta do to get your kids a good life.
Don't care as long as they come in the legal way with documentation and visa and all that.
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
I'm all for it. Especially if they are refugees.
Fukfacewillie · 51-55, M
They fill the STEM graduate schools on one hand and on the other hand build the houses, clean the houses, clean the pools, bus the tables, take care of the children, and have a vibrant family centered culture.
