The Rock of Gibraltar.

@UpForItNow what's the main thing? the monkeys?
UpForItNow · 22-25, F
@Midnightnerd Its history, interesting strategic position as a British and naval enclave, and imposing isolated stature. Its exotic monkeys are the icing on the cake.

Gibraltar is a fascinating place to visit @UpForItNow . Up on the rock there are many military installations, caves, tunnels and gun emplacements hidden away that can be explored, all in such a tiny area.
It pays to read up about the history. I have been twice and will go again.

FreestyleArt · 36-40, M
been there twice. I live not too far from there
Midnightnerd · 22-25, M
@FreestyleArt do you like it there? any surprises?

I've read about the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest in California where some of the trees are like 4 - 5000 years old. Five thousand years!!
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
Saw thousands of them on my way from Reno Nevada to Shasta where I spent the night.

Here is a story with pictures and videos of one of my own experiences of a little known wonder.

I'd like to see Yellow mountains in China. It's not a must but if I think about unique places I'd like to visit I usually think about this one.

@CrazyMusicLover they look so beautiful
