How do you punish a 6 year old child that repeatedly tell lies?

My dad used to tell me that if you lie to your nose would grow like Pinocchio. That made me nervous so whenever I tell a lie I've go in the bathroom to see if my nose got bigger. You fuckers can laugh all you want but I was only six years old at the time
