What is community??? a discussion

[big]What is community???[/big]
Maybe it's finding some common ground, living together in "peace"
and not assuming that because someone is different from us that
they are bad, stupid, evil, brainwashed, hateful, etc.

Why not try to learn why the other person thinks different thoughts?
Obviously you have different experiences; but experiences do not equal
to the truth; they are just our opinions.
They may not even be based on facts; at all.

So when you think of community. the place you would like to live.
Don't "shit where you eat".
Keep it clean and enjoy your community.
Open up your mind to learn about others instead of thinking you
have it all figured out.

Discuss with valid thoughts and input.
'Community' used to mean a geographic location and all those who lived there, good, bad, and indifferent. It was an inclusive term. Just because you disagreed with someone's views, dress, lifestyle, they were not ejected from the geographic location unless their behavior was criminal. Yes, there was sometimes trouble and no, it wasn't Nirvana.

Now 'community' means those of like minds. Those who are different ARE metaphorically ejected from the community. They are mocked, shouted down, or worse.

This means there is no genuine opportunity to learn anything about each other that we don't already think we know. We can't truly know anyone except our mirror images.

This is sad.

@Mamapolo2016 you are one of my favorite people
@JoeyFoxx Why, thank you! You are kind. Made me smile with surprise. ❤️

@Mamapolo2016 your comment makes me think of the sitcom “The Neighborhood”.

While the laugh track is annoying, it’s not terrible. Cedric the Entertainer has produced a show that addresses both geographical and ideological community at the same time... and has fun with it.

There’s an old story about a turtle and a scorpion at the river’s edge.

The scorpion asks the turtle to ride on his back to got to the other side. The turtle says no because the scorpion will sting him.

The scorpion then says “surely if I sting you, we will both die”

The turtle agrees and off they go.

Halfway across, the scorpion stings the turtle.

Confused, the turtle asks, “why did you sting me? Now we will both die!”

The scorpion says, “it’s my nature.”

Peace isn’t always feasible.

Community is people who live around. And what you are describing....are friends and people who care

Lol. America can't have community in private and commercial space.
