That's to be expected. I went through that last year, but now I know that I will never have to experience it again, and it gets better and easier to live with as time passes. He will come to realize that she is still with him even after her death.

My mother’s funeral was a rough time for me....it’s never easy losing a loved family member, and he loved his mother even if she didn’t love you. My Mom died in 2011, and I still think about her all the time.
It will be a rough time for your husband, but at least he has you....and he will come to realize that she still lives on in his heart even after her death.
