@SW-User The first example - thank you. The second - When I was little and loved to sing, my elementary school teachers thought I was loud; during one school concert and we were lining up, I heard my teacher - my beloved third-grade teacher - say to the other kids, "If she sings too loud, hit her in the back."
I was a teacher's pet at the time and most of the kids were jealous of me. Well, Miss Keough gave them carte blanche to do so, and I went home that day with a severely bruised back. This particular complement was awarded me several years later, by a mutual friend of both me and my brother (she shared a homeroom with him and we worked on the school paper staff together).
