@velvetmyth: ahhh but it was a way of life back then for most! I really got it easy compared to school mates that got beat in the face with a belt...

@bluesplayer: my school friends? yes...some did! Some were grabbed by the hair of the head..my parents didn't do that. Mom would make me go get the switch. And If I got one too small, she would come back with the tree...and my dad used the belt...on our bottoms!

@DixieChick: Heck my mom would take me in the room and slap the bed, so my siblings would think I was getting spanked. Guess I turned out okay.

@bluesplayer: I wish I had been so lucky...but it didn't kill me and I'm kinda glad they believed in corporal punishment because I look at today's youth....and just want to whip the crap out of them. REALLY!
