Walking. With no destination in mind.

A few hours of meandering quiet paths and laneways, in city light.

With springtime, we've come into melancholy days of damp and drizzle, and the errant touch of fog.
Into weather for wandering I go, to bear my thoughts away.

My city is my home, but for all its charms, London has my heart.

@SethGreene531 I need to walk to think I guess.
@Londonn I understand that completely, it liberates the mind. Sometimes I need to be free of walls to think.

I find walking gives the journey of self reflection a landscape on which to unfold.

@SethGreene531 plus there is this amazing director Werner Herzog, who loved to walk, literally in the fields, one day on a greek land, he walked up a hill, and discovered thousand windmills behind it.. and made a movie about it.. and said "world reveals itself to those who travel on foot"

@Londonn @Londonn Yes! 10,000 spinning windmills. Becoming the landscape for his protagonist in Signs of Life.

"world reveals itself to those who travel on foot":
A truth I've discovered over many years. Your vision and interpretation of everything changes, revealing a world of perspectives hidden to most.

“..the beauty is in the walking -- we are betrayed by destinations.”
― Gwyn Thomashh

“There comes . . . a longing never to travel again except on foot.”
― Wendell Berry

Herzog's stories and inspiration are refreshing. Though I'd heard of him before, I'd no idea he was so prolific. Thanks for letting me know!
