Anybody love going to the old folks home and chat.

I went to visit an old relative and ended up spending the whole day with some of the occupants. So many great stories of their youth and love lives. You'd be surprised at what you would hear. So much fun. The c-19 put a stop to that.

I agree with you 100%! The stories they have from a time long, long ago. I would love to volunteer at a facility; sadly, due to an illness I have (no cure) I cannot. The beautiful thing is these lovely people are lonely and love to share their stories. Good for you for visiting! That speaks volumes as to the type of person you are. :)

Some of the wisest, nicest, most lovable people I have ever had the privilege to meet have been residents of those facilities..always a pleasure...always a learning experience of some kind regardless of how small.

They really do have amazing stories if we just take the time to listen.

@Fantabulous Since I like stories, I love to listen.
I haven't in quite awhile. I got attached to many, even found a "grandma", and took her places. She had dementia but remembered every detail of her youth....
and me. The deaths dimmed my light no matter how selfish that sounds.

I worked with veterans for a while and even now, love to stop them to hear military and war stories. It's refreshing and fulfilling indeed.
