Do you have an intercom system in your house?
We do there's little intercom things in most rooms so if you need to communicate with someone you can reach them there. Before cellphones I would be paged to come downstairs that way

@DeluxedEdition It was installed in the 90s and nobody uses it anymore. It's all old and yellowed

Smart speakers like Alexa do this sort of thing all the time now. It’s built into their function.
