I told him I hate how I have to wait so long for him to respond at night and he says it’s because he’s video chatting with his friends he doesn’t get to see much but messaging me for like 5 minutes doesn’t take all night I’m mad

Messaging doesn't take time, but it can completely ruin some quality time elsewhere too. I think balance and understanding from both partners is essential in relating, and communicating needs respectfully and finding what works together. I've found from experience most people don't seem interested in that, only making their own demands. I hope you manage to do what's best for you both. Breakups can be very painful, but so can staying with someone you're incompatible with.
