It's not your place to meter out "punishment" on behalf of your husband. Your time and energy would be better spent in listening to him, helping him to heal from whatever was done to him - and supporting him with whatever he decides that he wants to do as far as dealing with that situation goes.
It's not worth making things worse for him and reaching the point where you are hated by your in-laws just for some petty revenge idea you have going on. In this case, two wrongs don't make a right.
