Why is 120lbs the ideal for women to weigh? Is this only a thing in my world?

My good friend is 5'4 and 150lbs, but it looks really good on her. Like she has amazing collarbone and hip structure and I'm assuming thats where the weight is because she is not fat by any means. But she has this horrible eating disorder and is obsessed with losing weight and being 120 lbs, when she's already skinny and boys have always literally drooled over her.

Why is 120lbs the number people think is normal? I'm 125lbs and Id say im underweight and multiple boys have told me im too skinny for them. Where did this number come from? Is this relevant to anyone else? I swear everyone I know thinks 120 and under is the standard. It should not be. I'd look healthier I'll admit if I gained a good 10lbs at least

Depends on a lot of factors.

People tell me I am a normal healthy weight. I am technically overweight. I feel like I am covered in flapping ham and am obsessed with being 140.

Of course I am 5'8". At 140 I look too thin but am technically healthy. Which is PERFECT as far as I am concerned.

So my point is that we don't see ourselves like others do.
