Anyone a vegan? Any tips?

I always said, that someday in the future I will become vegetarian. And I think I feel ready now. I feel like I don't want to eat meat no more, like I got no taste for it no more. Also I feel so low energy lately, and I hope that would make me more lighter on my feet.
I don't really want eggs either. Milk is tasty, but I siwtched to soya milk a while ago. Only thing is that Imma miss cheese.

Don't make your self missing anything i'd say. Allow yourself to have some cheese in the beginning. Quit what you feel comfortable with quitting already, and make a smooth transition... it is a wonderful journey:)

I am not a vegan, not a vegetarian either, i still eat some meat now and then. But i'm on my way, i'm becoming more and more of a vegan and i observe how my energy is after different foods.

@elafina Nice, thanks. What do u u usually eat for breakfast? Or what meals do u prepare?
elafina · 36-40, F
@Dan193 Breakfast i'm having oats with fruits and nut milk, crepes/pita filled with fried vegetables/salad, olives-tomato-cucumber-bread, sometimes just fruits, sometimes just tea :)
I also eat eggs so some days i make an omelette.

Other meals, i'm making indian style vegetable curries with rice, vegetable stews, sweet potato-carrot-beetroot-cashews soup, greek and turkish style lentil soup, chinese vegetable stir fry with rice noodles, i got a small spiralizer so now i am making also zucchini pasta with different kind of sauces, italian style risotto, pizza with vegetables and mushrooms .. and salads.. apart from vegetable salads you can make potato, pasta or lentil salads <3

I find a good substitute to meat things that have thickness like mushrooms, aubergine, okras, tofu.
Tofu is soya cheese, i find it a bit expensive here where i am so i don't buy it that often. You can also buy some dried soya kebab(looks like dried bread in cubes) and cook it like you would cook meat and use it as a substitute in some dishes.

see i love ethnic cuisine and i find it enjoyable to look for vegetable recipes around the world! if (or when) you have any tips you can share them too :)

@elafina Thank you very much. So much good information. I screenshotted it, to examine it more later when I go to the grocery store.

@elafina That made so much sense and I could eat all of that. I really could. Everything and enjoy it. You make it all sound so yummy. I even saved that. Thank you!😊😋🌺

@Dan193 @Oster1 thank you guys, i am so happy you find helpful what i'm sharing and..i go on with experimenting! if i find anything new that i will get excited about, i will come here to drop it 💚
You do the same.
Since i'm Greek i can tell you you can read about Pythagoras and Socrates being vegetarians and their reasonings, to keep you motivated in the long run.

@elafina Thank you, but I don't think Imma need motivation, since I don't really want to eat it no more anyway.

@Dan193 exactly! i was a bit overly enthusiastic 😆

@elafina yes I love that energy. I hope to be like that soon, too.

@elafina Thank you. I would love to sit in your class and learn from you.
You will always have my focused attention and respect.

Honestly, I see my myself as a hybrid and wanting to eat everything that is beneficial but yet rewards my senses too. There is so much enjoyment.

I could see every dish you described vividly and I really can’t think of any food, I dislike. I have cooked all of my life and scratch cooking is a hobby.

My Mother was French and taught me from a very young age. I too love to experiment and never will stop learning. Thank you, very much!🤗😋🌸

@Dan193 one go-to breakfast is chia porridge made with walnut-hemp milk. The milk is made in a blender and used to cook the porridge and also to pour on top. This works with oatmeal or a combo of chia and oatmeal as well. It lasts in the fridge all week.

@SW-User nice, thanks. I usually make the oatmeal with water tho, and after I add some blackberry jam in it to sweeten it.
