Will Protein repair damaged muscles even if you arent working out?

I did some weighted pull ups by tying a bucket full of stones to my legs and using a pull up bar and now I cant do a normal pull up, because my muscles behind my arms are fully damaged and if I try to pull up, it gives away in pain and I cant seem to move. I have normal protein rich foods. Over the days I am recovering from the pain, but still cant move the muscle. Will the food that i eat repair the damage and grow the muscle even if I,m not exercising the same?

Protein doesn't "repair" muscles. If it's just muscle fatigue it'll pass in a couple of days, if it's something more serious you'll probably need anti inlfamatories. Either way you should see a doctor to be safe.

And you should invest in a weighted vest, it's much safer as the weight isn't dangling below you and swaying.

@EuphoricTurtle Protein synthesis causes muscle growth after DOMS right.?I can feel it get better but I still cant pull up.

@johntomSWPhd Yes but that's not linear, especially if you have a muscle strain

You should ask a doctor, how do you expect anyone here to know if damaged muscle can heal?
