@JovialPlutonian Posting that has completely destroyed the relevance of the original post. Why do PEOPLE settle for that hideous abbreviation "ppl"? UGH!

@NankerPhelge same with lol and all the other abbreviations that make things more convenient. It’s amazing how ppl aren’t bothered by the other abbreviations but this one ‘ppl’ drives them insane, why is that, why is lol tolerable but ppl is condemned to hell?

@JovialPlutonian Because "lol" is pronounceable and doesn't have an unpleasant sound. On the other hand, "ppl" is both unpleasant-looking and unpronounceable without vowels. Can't you see that?

@NankerPhelge yeh but I pronounce it people I only abbreviate the spelling, not really something to get upset by really is it?

@JovialPlutonian Would you clear away all the modern buildings that have been there since 1980 or later and rebuild the old ones that used to be there before? Would you get rid of all the modern lamp-posts and replace them with the ones that were there 50 years ago? Would you relay all the railway lines that have been pulled up in the last 50 years, which means demolishing any new buildings that are in the way because they shouldn't be there anyway? Would you be able to do any of these things?
