Are you afraid for your children to grow up and not need you anymore?

That is part of why I wanted one last big roadtrip with my son. He is 17 and someday he will move out and barely need me anymore. The other reason is because I never get to spend the time I would like to with him due to living at work.

If you’ve raised them right that’s what will happen. Then when they have an issue , they will come to you for advice or emotional support . I dread and look forward to my kids leaving the nest and going after their goals

Don’t worry
They do tend to get away for a while when they first become adults but they come back to us when they become more mature
Specially if grand babies come around

I love my kids - but if anything I'm rather looking forward to that happening.
