I think it's bad for you. Most often, if there's no abuse or serious neglect, your son thinks there IS no better than you.
Instead of brooding about what a poor mother you are, why not try to be a better mother? There's no law of physics that says you can't.
An hour spent loving and nurturing your child is an hour you will never regret.

@seashells Give him yourself. You playing trucks with him in a crappy place is his idea of heaven.

@seashells Most children remember the relationship with their Mother more than anything else. You can see what you cannot provide him, he doesn't. To him, it is just how life is. The best you can do to accommodate him and bring him up is fine. Just make him a wonderful person by giving your unconditional love to him. That is what he deserves most!!

I think we all feel quite bad over our children....
With my first daughter, I always felt - and still do - as a failure because of just how I was back then....
My young daughter, I'm trying to correct those mistakes, but feeling that that is rubbing into my older girl's face.
I don't think she's jealous of her sister, but I am highly aware of walking that tightrope....

It is natural, any other way would be unnatural. Normal parents want their children to have a better life than them. Sometimes, it works, sometimes it doesn't.

All parents believe that
All truly wonderful parents do anyway
