Yes.

It is a scam to get you to give them your info.

I like to have fun with them.

Caller (in thick accent): Can I have your name please?

Me: Absolutely, Neuman, Alfred E. (spelling it all out as I go)

Caller: Can I please verify your date of birth?

Me: Absolutely, February 29, 1964 (making sure I point out that it was a leap year)

Caller: Thank you, can I please verify the last four digits of your social

Me: Absolutely, 6969

Caller: No, that can't be right, can you please repeat that?

Me: yes, it actually is 6969. It is a special number issued because I was born on a leap day.

Caller: I am not sure that it is right can you give me the entire number?

Me: Sure, 696-96-6969

Caller: Are you sure?

Me: Yes, I am absolutely sure that you are a fucking scam artist and that you should pound sand.

Normally I am unable to complete the last sentence before they hang up.

You can't stop them so you might as well have fun with them and the more you keep them distracted, that is just one person that they don't have time to fuck with that might be gullible enough to believe their garbage.

@goliathtree I love the Alfred E Neuman part. I am sure they don't get it.
