@revenant It doesn't tell the whole story. Is he suspected of murder? Is he simply frightened because he's been stopped for no reason many time before and had weapons discharged? Is he mentally unwell? The Police know his name. He might be a dangerous man with a car full of drugs. In the 3+ minutes we see, there is no engagement with this man except to shout at him and fire guns. Perhaps something to give a reason would be a start.

was he trying to reach for a weapon in the car ? why did not he want to come forward ? why did he escape ?

@Frank52 yes and why did the police know his name ? did he commit a crime ? the guy clearly resisted arrest and if I were a policeman I would have been nervous him hiding behind the car door. And possibly reaching for a weapon.. was there somebody else in the car ?

@revenant I think there was someone else in the car because at one point someone shouts. 'Passenger, keep your hands up.' Also there is a pixelated section of the picture suggesting their identity is being protected - perhaps because they are innocent of any crime.

@Frank52 thanks , that is what I thought I heard and saw too. The whole story has not been told. Maybe a kidnapping or an accomplice ?

@revenant Indeed, could be a lot of things. The title of the OP simply draws attention to the reason for BLM. My point is not to defend any criminal or their activity but to say I can see why people find the policing strategy wanting.

@Frank52 BLM are thugs. And if you do not know the whole story it is pointless. If that Ramos guy had kidnapped my kid for ex. and wanted to drive away with him, I would have been sooooo for the police shooting the guy.

@revenant Of course you would. Revenge is an instinct. The Law is there to stop that happening and bring some sense of order to society, with courts for a fair trial. I thought that was part of the American way. The trouble is you've now imposed on the video your feelings about something which may or may not happened based on limited information.

@revenant by all means but that still isn’t means to murder him he should be detained and brought trail. BLM are thugs because they have rioted, I don’t think you would care if your government refuses to take their point seriously and you’re risking being killed by police unlawfully.

Wasn't he resisting arrest ?

@revenant I didn't hear the words, 'Michael Ramos you're under arrest.' May be different in the States, but you have to certain words in the UK not just 'Do as you're told or I'll shoot you.'

@revenant the guy put his hands up then they shot him, how is he resisting he only fled because he had been shot even though he wasn’t resisting so he tried to escape being shot, that is clear in the video he was already surrendering but they still shot him

@JovialPlutonian no and you are very biased. And why is it always viral videos dealing with black men and minorities ? I am sure plenty of white guys get shot too but for some reasons nobody talks about them. Those vids are to fulfill a political agenda.

@revenant I’m referring to how the police are operating and how for that reason I’m not surprised that their is a group called Black lives matter. This is why the police in the uk don’t shoot ppl dead if they don’t know if they have a gun. When they have done it has backfired
