I broke my pelvis in a horse riding accident and the ambulance picked me up and didn't believe id broken anything. They carted me off to hospital and I had to wait 6 hours for an x ray. Found out I had broke my pelvis.

Last year I took my wife to the ER at the Beth Israel hospital in Boston and we waited 6 hours. The triage unit decides how quickly a person needs care.

Tell them your boyfriend is starting to feel nauseous; not wanting him to throw-up in the waiting room, they will probably bring him back to an exam room.

Days. ...weeks even

When I went to the ER for double pneumonia I was in incredible pain. I couldn't believe the people they let go before me. Until they took my X-rays they were in no hurry.

*sigh* last time i went it took 4 hours to see a doctor. And this was with their online 'apointment' settings which turned out to be a lie.

Depends how urgent it is

I hate urgent care. They are so limited and always send you over to the emergency room.
