Reported a user for making threats and giving off a serious “future mass shooter vibe,” got this response.

I mean, good on the SW team for recognizing a threat and taking it seriously—no, seriously, that’s the right thing and I’m not complaining about that; they did exactly what mods are supposed to do—but I do question their wording a bit. “Almost preventing?” Phrasing it so that it looks like he can still do what he got sanctioned for?

But anyway. This is a minor quibble about how the mods phrased their description of what they did, not what they did or how they did it. They did what they were supposed to do, and good on them for it.

People often get sanctioned for nonexistent violations on this site. The first priority they need is to make sure they don't act on false reports, which is something they often do.

@HairbrushDiva Like I said, I’m glad the mods investigated this report and treated it seriously. I just think it’s funny that they said “almost preventing.”

@TiffAching I've heard similarly odd phrases from people I know. One guy I know says "slightly excellent" and its opposite "slightly bogus". I remember another guy saying he almost hated the thought of people walking on the Moon and revealing to the world that it wasn't really as he'd imagined it to be when he was a child. Almost hated? What's that? Lol :)
