Racism isn’t just about people in white hoods

Now imagine all the comments she must have got telling her to watch her tone, or saying she was the problem, or trying to mansplain the appraisal process to her, or ...
Appraisals should follow a market, but unless the bottom dropped out of her market, this is obvious bull...& the 2nd appraisal clinches it (else it would also be low, right?).

Fucked as hell.

Racism is a process not an event.... this demonstrates this.

I have a great friend, he is 2nd generation Afro-Caribbean born in the UK. He is a really smart man. He has a BSc in psychology, an MSc in Public Health and a PHD around infection control. He is the Director of Public Health for our local authority - he holds the public health of 250,000 residents in his hands.

When he got that job the council gave him a company car, it was one of the perks. He got a nice brand new Mercedes. He was subsequently stopped by the police on a frequency of once a month at least for the next 18 months when the car lease came up for renewal. He didn't bother just took the cash and runs around in a 5 yr old Vauxhall - he only gets stopped now if he is out in the early hours - still probably due to rational profiling.

The other one he told me was one high up police officer at a meeting asking him if he could sort out better coffee for him - he thought he was part of the catering staff no the director running the meeting.

It all shows how society has conditioned all this anti-black thinking and how people continue to impose stereotypes over people as soon as they see they are people of colour.
Systemic racism is a thing, no matter what the privileged will say to protect their privileges.
