My Samsung tablet all of a sudden developed this issue. I was on it and then the battery level began to quickly drop. I grabbed the original charger, but it continued dropping until it died.
Now I have this image on the screen (not picture of my actual tablet) when I try to charge and after I press power button + volume down. This image of a lightning bolt with a gray circle and it is still not charging or powering on. What can I do? Is anyone familiar with this issue?

I recently bought a new phone which came with a new charger (type C) I was told by phone comp. that the charger was a different shape and would not work with my other devices. I decided to give it a try anyway (carefully. I plugged my other phone in and the charging icon appeared. I decided to see what would happen if I plugged it into my tablet even though I'd already tried three other ones (including the original) and IT WORKED! That funky icon disappeared and an actual charging symbol appeared. It is currently at 10% and still climbing up!! Yay!!
And to think Samsung wanted me to send it in and charge me an out of warranty fee of $100. I'm so glad I decided to try my brand new charger even though the rep gave me other information.
The last time this happened to me, I had a spyware in my phone. My battery was dying literally within minutes and I'd have a few minutes every time I turned my phone on to search where the issue is at. I went to my settings and into the active apps section and saw an unfamiliar "android" app that was constantly active and I couldn't turn it off. So I had to go to "all apps" and delete that app from my phone. Also deleted all the cache files. The day was saved.
I had downloaded a song mp3 file from an unknown website, which had automatically downloaded this app too, causing problems. Check if something similar has happened to you. Good luck.
@JT123 It won't even power on. Not charging at all. When it was on before it died it was fine, shortly after I noticed the battery low and plugged it in. It just continued to drop. I'm calling Samsung today.
