We have a dystopian future on the horizon
We are going into a dystopian future because of fascism, internet spam, plastic people, sanctions, socialism, pandemics, economic decline, and so much other crap. A lot of crap is on the horizon.

Don't know where you get this idea from.
Merely the current crop of Politicians trying desperately to cling to power when they know the electorate is sick of their there's nothing we can do about it inadequacy.
Not as though we screwed with the economy. They did. Over a long period of time !
Not as though we screwed with industry. They did.
Pillaged it for decades and now can't understand why there's no Level 2 being touted as the next big thing.
It will right itself eventually.
But believe me. These people are living in fear that all the systems they put so much stock into over the last 40 years are collapsing around their ears.
