I was laid off in April due to covid-19. I worked there for over 5 years, and I was still laid off. Everyone that was hired after me is gone as well... I'm at a new job now, but I'm taking a 35% hourly pay cut. Ffs :/

Tough times ahead.

You can never get overconfident at your job. It's better to have the mentality that it's your last day there. Especially with this pandemic. What you should do is work as if there is no tomorrow.

Yep it happened to me earlier this year, though I really hated that job and the goddamn motherfucking people in it. Still, I worked very hard in that job just to have it taken away.

Words of wisdom. Nothing is forever, nothing should be taken for granted. It’s not about how good you are, it’s all about how much money to make for them.

Yeah, I got let go from a job once out of the blue. That's why I'm where I'm at now. I take things more seriously now and I'm one of their favorite employees.

Very true. And really you can apply that to anything. Even people. Someone could be in your life one day and then gone the next never take anything for granted.
