@JovialPlutonian That's really bizar that you say that, a couple of years ago she risked her political carreer and went against the consensus in the party and in Europe by telling the German people that they could handle the migrant crisis. And she did it, at a point that European leaders were squabbeling amongst themselves because no one wanted to take in migrants and people were pointing at dublin which pretty much was in a serious disadvantage to every European nation that is at the border of the Euro-zone. At a moment that refugees were piling up in hungary, and sleeping on the floor in awfull conditions because the hungarian governement didn't give a fuck and was using them as leverage to get more crap from Europe.

What do you expect Merkel to do about it? It's pretty much an internal affair. And she also said that she would use Diplomacy to do what she can. I think a lot of diplomatic channels are trying to do something, but I don't think it's going to matter.

I seriously wonder what your suggestion for a solution is for Hong Kong.

But the movie you posted, are a bunch of activists then think like you. What I'm wondering about is what Angela Merkel said to get this treatment. I'm pretty sure, you won't find it.

She recently gave a speech for the EU, where she said that EU countries should deal with China. And she continues by explaining that even though China is a competitor they are also a business partner. And by having trade, you can have foothold trough diplomacy. She has always spoken against Chinas' treatment of human beings and put emphasis on human rights.

Which is pretty much consistent with ideas that have been part of the EU for a verry long time. You can disagree with that, that's okay. But this idea, is not what you are portraying it to be.
