Who saved you once?

greenmountaingal · 70-79, F
A woman who was a friend of my family. Her name was Rose F.

When my mother tried to kill me at her home one Christmas Eve back in the 1950s, she had the guts and the class to interfere. She took a no-nonsense approach to the situation. This was her home, this was her holiday party, and, as far as she was concerned, no one was going to be murdered as a guest in her home. Not even me, a mere 13 year old girl generally the lowest status person she probably knew. I am immensely grateful to her now knowing I would have almost certainly died years ago without her brave stand; no one ever dared stop my mother from doing anything. She is my hero in memory. One of the few good people in my childhood. I don't know how she found the courage to do what she did, quietly but clearly and firmly letting my mother know she could not get away with absolutely anything in Rose's house, especially not murder.

Someone on this site, and a coworker years ago, and a doctor, and a couple random people who had nothing to do with anything.

My older brother once during a storm told me, “RUN!!!” I didn’t look around, I just trusted him and ran. When I knew I was safe, I looked behind me to see a metal pole flying like a spear right where I was at.
My Young Life Leader. I was choking on a piece of an Apple from an Apple pie and I was turning blue.
