How do you all react to an insult?

I've never received an insult to my face, although - of course, like everyone else - I have been attacked online for no reason. Normally, I'm not bothered and see no point in wasting my time on them. I prefer to ignore the insulter(s) and exit the Internet. However, on extremely bad days, I sometimes sit there and feel tempted to sling an insult back at them. It's terrible - the hot, sudden pain that lances through my chest as I stare at the glaring comment on my screen. But I usually murmur a blessing over them, slowly close my computer, and find something else to do.

How do you react when someone insults you - whether it's online or face-to-face (not looking for advice - just curious about what you would do)?

I'm just like "Ok" most of the time lol. Other times i feel enraged & cuss them out.

I rarely cuss, but there are times when I wish I could type "___ you." But I don't because I start thinking about their situation, and what if they're going through something? I just feel guilty in the end. ^^'

@Hiraeth: I try not to cuss because it makes me look stupid, & like i have nothing better to say but its just soo damn satisfying to say "Stfu you stupid fucking idiotic bitch" omg its therapeutic. LOL much better than arguing on & on about it. Ill just shut you down with a "Fuck off" im a potty mouth when im pissed. Im really nice & patient tho soo..*blushes*

@SailorMarzz: Are you one of those people that is very kind but is a force to reckon with when angered haha? To me, you sound like one, and those are one of my favorite types of people.

Yes, I save the cussing for when I absolutely can no longer take it. However, it's still very rare, and I'll keep it really short. But I can see why saying those things would be satisfying - I'm trying to hide a smile at the thought of writing out something like that. I could never do something like that.

@Hiraeth: Hahahahaha LOL well idk i wouldn't say that. It's rare for me to get that extremely pissed at someone tbh. But when it happens i just get nasty & then i get really embarrased afterwards. I don't like showing intense feelings like that it makes me feel naked xD & you could never write something like that? Oh pfftt sure ya can just let your emotions take over ;)
