I know He does. I know the Bible is the real and reliable Word of God. I know that Jesus died and rose again for the sins of the world.

@SW-User That's fine. You've read a book and you choose to believe it.

@SW-User It's far more than that. It's the evidence of Creation, of history, of logic, of being in relationship with Jesus...it's all of this and more.

@SW-User
It's the evidence...
How does that book prove anything? Simply saying it's evidence doesn't make it so. One could just as well say Harry Potter books are evidence of wizardry and proof that London, King's Cross Station and Hogwarts School are all real places.

@Sharon I don't like that argument because, I'm sorry, it doesn't make sense. I never said something being written down makes it true. Actually I didn't even use the Bible when I said evidence...I looked to sources beyond it like the world around me and what Jesus has done in my life. I'm saying one way we know that the Bible is true is all the support it has by logic, philosophy, history, science and so on

Also the Bible isn't really one book. It's 66 books, letters, and documents

@SW-User I misinterpreted "It's the evidence..." by presuming 'It' referred to the bible. Sorry about that.

Nevertheless, what evidence is there that points to your specific god and not any of the thousands of others?
SW-User
@Sharon "The Case for Christ" and similar books say it better than I could but there is plenty of evidence. There is the fact that the books of the Bible are ridiculously well preserved and we can know for a fact that they are what was originally written. Almost nothing else has survived that well. There is the mountains of evidence that Jesus lived, performed wonders, was very publicly crucified, and yet within months had thousands of followers willing to die for belief that He was alive. What would convince these people of that when His death was not a secret and the location of His tomb known? There is also the evidence of his power in the life of a Christian. True many today don't really walk the walk but I know for a fact that Jesus is alive and real based on my relationship with Him.

If you truly want to know more, the book I recommended above will help you.

@SW-User
"The Case for Christ" and similar books say it better than I could but there is plenty of evidence.
I've read it. It's a load of rubbish propaganda that doesn't prove a thing other than the naivety of some christians. Propaganda is not evidence.
There is the fact that the books of the Bible are ridiculously well preserved and we can know for a fact that they are what was originally written.
Wrong again. What do you mean be "well preserved"? So are Aesop's fables. How can you know "for a fact" that they bear any resemblance to what was originally written? Sounds to me like you've been taken in by the propaganda.
There is the mountains of evidence that Jesus lived,
Where? It's easy to say but no on4e seems able to present that evidence. There are mountains of evidence that Jesus is a completely fictional character.
here is also the evidence of his power in the life of a Christian.
Again, where?
I know for a fact that Jesus is alive and real based on my relationship with Him.
Just as others "know for a fact" that Odin/Zeus/Jove/etc. are alive and real based on their relationship with them.

Nothing you've said proves anything other than your own gullibility. Sorry.

@SW-User zombies also rise from the dead..

@SW-User It is not "evidence" of anything. It is a collection of parables, stories, teachings and myths, assembled in a highly selective manner, with many books left out, over 400 years after the death of Christ. Even Christian scholars agree that the Bible cannot be used as factual evidence for historical events. I'm not saying that its teachings are all BS. There's a lot of good life lessons in it (plus a lot of BS about taking up Serpents, etc.).
@Chelsiegirl That's funny - you have a very nice sense of irony. :)
