How to waste time without really trying.

So late last night i get an e-mail asking if i could attend a planning meeting for one of my clients today.

I thought......this will be interesting ! Social distancing being the order of the day an' all ! 🤔

So i politely reply 'Sure'. Making the assumption it will be within 50 miles of where i am.
But NO ! I get given an address......somewhere i don't recognize.... in a town i have never been to.......145 miles away ! 🤷🏻‍♂️........😖

FINE !
So i do my research on this address......Not registered as a facility or a care home or even connected to any of my clients...🙄 The plot thickens !

So i call the sender of the e-mail to confirm that A.- They want[u] ME[/u]. And B.- it's at the address they gave me.
He says yes on both counts.
So i plan the journey !

Up early this A.M. Suited and booted off i go praying that the Sat-Nav does it's thing because even on a new-ish road map i still couldn't figure this address out.

Get up there in plenty of time. Find the area this place is in. And the Sat-Nav gleefully tells me when i find the address !
AN OLD INTERNET CAFE ON AN INDUSTRIAL ESTATE !!! 😲

So i go in and ask about it and ask this guy and he says "Oh yes they (people i'm dealing with) often use this place !.....For video conferencing !".......😳.....😲.....🤬

There are about 20 'booths' with terminals in. About ten of us in this place.

So there i am as the guy 'connects me'. Where i then sit connected to 15 other people also dotted about the country, discussing this case with no thought to confidentiality; personal safety; time or anything !
I have the feeling i should have walked ! For precisely those reasons !
