Is the confederate flag racist?

I'll say that people who really love the thing seem remarkably unbothered by racism.

many people see it as the symbol of a society that allowed the ownership of others.

others only see it as a decoration.

both are correct in their own mind.

inanimate objects can not be racist.

It is often times used as a dog whistle sadly. So yeah. It has been tainted by its association with white supremacy.
