Can a home mature?

Say you live somewhere, you decorate rearrange furniture, maybe some years later you redecorate again. Is it possible for the decor to mature.

I'm not sure I'm explaining this well but like I looked into my living room from the hallway and the floor lamp lit over the arm chair against the curtains made me think the room was of an older, mature person.

I love to go to thrift stores and pick up do da's, sometimes I get crafty with the things and paint etc. Then I place them around my house. Often I move them because they "feel" like they belong someplace else. I have had many come into my home and say they feel very peaceful in my home.

I believe the way things are arranged makes it feel that way.

@curiosi you are so interesting to me. As I imagine you're home would be, you always deliver responses like this and I often find my self intrigued but a little intimidated, I guess what you describe is kind of where I'd eventually like to be in life.
Do you have and collectables?

@Peppa I collect snow men. I had an aunt that gave me a Lenox snow man and so I started. I keep them mostly in the kitchen as now many are salt and pepper shakers. I don't want them all over the house because it gives a cluttered appearance.

@curiosi aww that's cute. Is there a story behind your aunt giving you the snowman? Or too personal to share?

I remember many years ago people used to have things like animal set salt and pepper shakers. If I remember correctly my grandparents had pigs lol with these very charming expressions and poses lol.

They were fun.

@Peppa My aunt had a thing for Lenox, she had bowls etc. Not really my thing. she also crowded her house but loved the stuff so she bought that because she wanted to buy something then gave it to me.
