I am a little more concerned as burglaries have doubled in my area. The thieves are taking advantage of retail stores and the lack of police presence, more so than residential homes.

@BizSuitStacy That has been on my mind...when that stuff would start. Sorry to hear you are seeing it.
@Stereoguy It is. It was already a problem as our leftist local legislature told the police to stand down and not enforce laws associated with property crimes. Now it's getting worse.

@Stereoguy the voters continue to elect or re-elect the same sort of leftists. They frequently run unopposed.

That seems dangerous. Which local legislature did that? Do you have link to the official statement/order?

Another leftist demand?

You just wanted to lend some credence to the currently undocumented accusation of the other leftists mentioned that are demanding police not pursue action against property crimes? Okay.
@daisymay Google Seattle Survival Crimes. Lots of articles about this. Crimes such as theft, burglary, shoplifting aren't being prosecuted. Even if the police make an arrest, the perpetrators are frequently being released back into the streets. This is even true of violent offenders who assault citizens. There are some offenders who've been arrested 75 times or more, only to be released back into the streets where the offense is repeated. Police officers are leaving the Seattle area being told not to enforce these laws. It is dangerous as many innocent people are being hurt.

@BizSuitStacy That sounds terrible.

I wish the leftists would have let you move from that hellscape instead of trapping you there after Seattle imploded from the $15/hr minimum wage.

@daisymay it gets real when you come home, and find someone kicked in your back door, ransacked your home, and has stolen valuables and family heirlooms. Yeah, that happened to me not that long ago. You call 911...police show up 45 minutes later. They take a report. Then tell you they aren't going to investigate.

@Stereoguy they told me I would have to check the pawn shops, social media, etc. myself. I only wish I had been home at the time.

@Stereoguy making matters even worse...the police told me this was part of a ring that had been working the area. So, the police know it's going on. They aren't communicating to the public. They aren't enhancing patrols to stop it. They keep raising our property taxes though...you know...to address the homeless problem. Weird how it's not working.

@BizSuitStacy Funnily enough, that exact thing happened to my family over Christmas 2012. In the raging leftist stronghold that is Texas.

Weird.
@daisymay where in Texas?
daisymay · 51-55, T
@BizSuitStacy Williamson County
@daisymay Austin perhaps? A very liberal area.
