We were bored and decided to watch the UK news. They just said that the lockdown there may last for 6 months. Wow!

@SW-User It will be interesting to see when (and if) they remove the emergency powers we are currently operating under.

@Quizzical I'm a little worried as to how people will react.

The most worrisome thing in my opinion is the fact that we can now be sectioned under the mental health act at the say so of only one doctor. That's one of the 'powers' I'm half expecting to not be reverted back.

Any naysayers or 'dissidents' can now be locked away on medical grounds.

Given the restrictions in our freedoms because of the 'war on terror' and now this situation I honestly think we are inching ever closer to a 1984 scenario.

@Quizzical The mental health part is scary. The amount of extra work for social care is astounding already. I'm lucky as my job is secure and stable. But I'm dreading the damage that we will all have to undo when we go back. I'm scared, absolutely freaking out about two of the kids in my class who I doubt I'll ever see again.
