I lied my ass off to earn my degree. Does that make me an evil person?

This is something that has weighed on my mind for years. Normally I don't speak about myself in such a way but I figured this is something important enough to me that I am bringing it up. In college I had a lot of social anxiety and could not approach anyone to save my life. In projects where I had to interview strangers or reach out to others I did not know I cheated. I lied, I crafted falsehoods, I weaved such an elaborate believable project for my classes based on well thought out lies and I aced every single one.

I knew exactly what to do to avoid suspicion from my professors. I knew exactly how to doctor my results to where they were not too perfect but not terrible wrong either. My professors were highly experienced in their fields yet not once did I land on their radar for suspicion.

All in all, I do feel terrible looking back at what I had done to pass my classes and to earn my degree. It's something that does eat at me from time to time but I graduated a long time ago so it no longer really matters. In the end I won.

What area of study?
TheSacredOne · 36-40, M
@Mandalorian It was in both a journalism and technical writing class.
@TheSacredOne That's not cheating...have you read a press media article lately?
TheSacredOne · 36-40, M
@Mandalorian I have not.
@TheSacredOne Well, having studied media, you should know that the press is full of shit right?

Creative writers make a living out of making up bullshit right?

I'm surprised you weren't the dux of your graduating year..
TheSacredOne · 36-40, M
@Mandalorian I actually was top tier in a creative writing and in a poetry class. I did earn my honors tassel and I graduated in the top 10%-15%. Magna Cum Laude.
@TheSacredOne Frankly, I dont see the issue here at all...its not like your area of study was medicine, psychology, education or anything like that...

To bullshit your way through a media and creative writing degree is nothing more than street cred!
