Fair block?

I don't care I'm just asking: Blocked by a self harmer because I said hurt the person who hurts you instead of yourself.

I self harmed as a teen till one day I thoutght f this.

I still get thoughts of self harm but before I harm myself I go after the fucker who said or did stuff to make me feel shit and I don't self harm.

So I don't get how it's "bad advice" when it worked for me. BUT was I blocked fairly, is it insensitive or offensive to say this?
You have the better idea. Hurt the person who hurts you, don’t hurt yourself.

@wilderflower thanks. I think so. I just wondered if I was horrible...

It might have been something else I said to him 🤔
@Paliglass Uh oh.

@wilderflower I realised what it was probably.
Maybe the person wasn't ready for your "help " maybe they needed more time drowning in their sorrows.

@PuppetOnStrings no I was an arsehole, I just realized.
@Paliglass 🌹 ..
Self harm is a complex issue, and the reasons as to why people engage in self harm are varied. what works for one person does not work for another. At the end of the day you offered something you thought might be helpful, however you did not know the state of mind of the person you were talking to. Its why I always think its better to direct people back to face to face support, so all things can be talked about or looked at.
