Are school open as normal in your country? What is the point of avoiding social contact while kids are mixing with god knows who, parents are mingling

at school gates, teachers doing the same while theatres, cinemas and other places of social gathering are closed.
Surely the solution is to close schools, assume that the summer holiday is early while this term is postponed, then return as normal when the epidemic is in decline?
Why are governments deliberately allowing the outbreak to reach a bigger peak than necessary?

My understanding is that all the Catholic schools are closed. The public schools are also closed in my city, and in several other cities in the Bay Area.

@RodneyTrotter @bijouxbroussard You'd think it would be a charable offense, but after the mock impeachment we just had the Cult of Trump will prevail.
No compassion has this man... absolutely none.

@RodneyTrotter just gets to be too much bull crap that you got to keep ignoring to keep a good opinion of him.
And as you probably know already, I'm not the most liberal, politically speaking, person in the world.
But this cult-like mentality around him, I don't know, it makes me nervous.

@RodneyTrotter It's a mad world at the moment.
@RodneyTrotter See, I knew that about Trump decades ago when he was constantly being sued for racial discrimination as both an employer and as a property owner. Then, as a businessman he often had to file for bankruptcy, often leaving investors and stockholders devastated. Ross Perot was an example of a fairly competent businessman running for office, and we didn’t want that. Electing someone as corrupt as Trump may prove to be the biggest mistake our country has made in modern times.

@RodneyTrotter We’ll see. The combination of people choosing not to vote at all and his supporters who see him as a “victim” of the “lefties and liberals”, and are determined to back him no matter what he says or does, may prove problematic. Especially in the swing states, which factor into our electoral college.
