....I was told by some people in my area that some folks are arming themselves with weapons, ammunition and preparing themselves going into survival mode. What are your opinions on this matter with respect to the virus.

Worse case scenario about 80% of the population would not survive an extinction event threat on the outside perhaps 6 months. Plenty of toilet paper to go around tthen.
