Do you think the UK are being stupid not locking down?, like spain, italy etc.

So the English government seem to be very... slow and a little silly to seem the least. What are your thought on how it's being 'handled'.

I'm from Scotland, so I'm aware it's worse south of myself and it's not as bad where I am. However it's really not looking great. I'm not giving in to the panic and all that and I certainly wont horde toilet roll XD

There are differing opinions and really the best strategy will be judged way down the line rather than today. Some countries have slowed the new infections rate but only by nature of lockdowns that cannot last forever. If they need to keep them in place until a vaccine is available to the majority then that could take over a year. If they release the lockdown there is every chance that the rate of infection just starts to climb again.

It's a tough call and the only two solutions are the virus going away for good or the majority establishing a level of immunity. The consensus seems to be that this virus isn't going away.

There are some misconceptions about the UK strategy being employed. The idea of herd immunity has been discussed but they have also suggested a phased and appropriately timed role out of measures to prevent compliance fatigue. If you lock people down for too long you risk non compliance and even civil unrest.

@SW-User That's what I had seen to. In regards to the latter part there, the civil unrest I feel like that may come down to the small amount paid out If you're on sick pay. People can't live on that, that's my main issue at the moment and the fact my work is still open is really only going to make it worse. So maybe this herd immunity really is their solution.

Certainly doesn't seem ideal being locked up for a year.

Better go to prison and ask how they cure boredom 😅
