How do you feel about interdependence?

In regards to relationships, your career and coworkers, your neighborhood, your country?

[i][b]If[/b][/i] you are on the independent side of the spectrum (dependent/interdependent/independent) in regards to relationships, would you sacrifice your independence for the protection and safety of others? I don't mean you sacrifice your rights or the constitution is compromised to any degree whatsoever. I mean, would you sacrifice your innate need to rely solely on yourself in order to protect others?
