Why do most actors look attractive and like models?

Most actors work for American entertainment companies. A lot of European actors look like average people. The American entertainment industries feels that they need such aesthetically pleasing people or not enough Americans will spend money to watch. Even in Music, the industry invariably chooses looks over musical talent, having music videos in mind. That is why I only listen to original, live music now and some independent music.
I feel much healthier now since avoiding American entertainment.

Many have multiple talents that we are not aware of,actors/actresses often can also sing,dance,play instruments and yes also model or are ex models.
For example Kate Winslet is a great singer,Scarlett Johansson is a decent singer too,as is Melissa Benoist who plays Supergirl.The actor Luke Evans is such a good singer he performed for the Queen on stage here in England.
Angelina Jolie,Taylor Kitsch,Rachel Nichols and many more are ex models.
