Why do white people deny their evil colonial history?

@Orca4950 If a group of people came into your home, began using your resources and possessions, forced you to speak their language, follow their religion, do their bidding and murdered any who objected, you’d see nothing wrong ? The color of the people doing this would be moot.

@bijouxbroussard I agree that to the extent that you describe is wrong. no contest. colour may be moot as you say. one also wonders where the world would be today with out colonialism.

@bijouxbroussard you are right they shouldn't but several "civilizations" have done so and either stayed or left.

Why should the current people living there be blamed for colonialism if their ancestors moved there voluntarily. Even if you traced a person's DNA to an original invader why should that person have to make amends for something several generations before?

I agree if the invader is still alive then they should be made accountable.

@Orca4950 Honestly, I’m not saying anyone living today should be blamed for the sins of the past. But the attitude would make a difference. DNA testing means I could, in theory, find the descendants of people who owned and in some cases, raped my ancestors. We’re all related. The folks who did it are all dead now, just like the people to whom it was done. I’d hold no resentment today, unless they were proud and bragging about the fact that their ancestors sold and raped slave children.
