Or is it with modern drivers?

I learnt to drive in an XW Falcon, three on the tree (with no syncromesh on first) and four wheel drum brakes. So with one gear to slow you down and brakes that faded if you were stopping from anything higher than about 80, I can tell you I learnt to read the road about 20 cars ahead. Even today with four wheel power-assisted disc brakes with emergency assist and everything else, I still drive like a granddad.

The easier it is to drive the car the more idiots will be using their phones etc. instead of concentrating on the driving and traffic.

@cherokeepatti Very true. I was driving on the main coastal road in Southern Spain recently, a road that apparently has the worst safety record in Europe. A girl, preoccupied with her mobile, cut across from a side road almost into me. I had to swerve violently. And she blasted her horn at me. That seems to be the main thing they learn in driving lessons : always blame the other driver.

So many screw(ed) drivers on the road.

Lol, tf are you even talking about? It's easier to drive with a modern car. Or do you mean the driving ability of the person driving? Because honestly, it's the people with the old ass cars that dress like psychos.
