People who are compassionate, understanding; the ones who love when they are not loved, who care when they could just as easily follow the crowd, and walk away.

People often talk about how humanity is greedy and selfish - But consider that virtually every animal is greedy and self-serving. The fact that we can recognize our own greed and selfishness and act in a way contrary to that is a uniquely human thing. Our compassion and duty that we perform to each other, consciously (not just out of instinct), is our achievement as a species. I feel that those who are misanthropic overlook it.

@DDonde theres a difference between greed of animals and self serving nature and that of humans. well its both instinct, our own greed goes over that self survival and destroys more then that. however understanding our greed and selfishness and recognising it is something something unique to us, well to sentient creatures :p
so the pinnacle of our humanity is going above our instinct recognising our flaws and actively going against them even if they stem in our basic instincts?
