Yes. I miss the real spirit of Christmas when it was about spreading joy and not about spending huge amounts of money.

@ThatMusgraveWoman spot on

we still have carol singers but it is more of a planned voluntary event, near lights displays or touristy venues, singers come dressed up (usually victorian-ish) and audience folks come to watch and join in the singing, share (spiked) hot drinks

I haven't seen that since I was young.

@SW-User lovely, prunes and custard. Do it

SW-User
No, honestly they would truly annoy me. And I'm not being cynical in the least.
Ironicman · 56-60, M
@SW-User when was the last time they did?

SW-User
@Ironicman Never. I grew up on the outskirts of town and maybe that's why I have no sentimentalism that way, but I have a feeling in Canada that happens less often.

I’ve never lived anywhere they did that in neighborhoods. I like coming across groups when I’m out n about though. Feels warm. We should just do stuff like that all year. LOL

Happened once when I was little. I don't miss it
GlitterBug · 22-25, F
I've never had that happen.
MentalFloss · M
Thankfully not. Cringeworthy experience

SW-User
Ive never experienced that. People are nuts and it's not safe
Ironicman · 56-60, M
@SW-User but we still get trick or treat at Halloween.

SW-User
@Ironicman we don't.
MethDozer · M
It would be cool if those types of things were still common.
